Building the Teching DM135 Jet Turbine Engine Kit: An Incredible Journey into Model Engineering
Hey everyone! I'm excited to share with you my latest project — the Teching DM135 Jet Turbine Engine Kit, a powerful and intricate model that I received from Stirlingkit. As many of you know, I’ve already assembled several models from this brand on my channel, and let me tell you, this one is truly special!
Unboxing and First Impressions
The first thing that strikes you when you open the box is how organized everything is. The packaging is superb, and you can immediately tell that a lot of thought went into the design and presentation. Inside, you’ll find 600 pieces and a detailed instruction manual. Trust me, this will take around 5 hours to assemble — it's a challenging project, rated with 5 stars for difficulty. But, hey, I love a good challenge!
The instructions are fantastic, full of colorful diagrams, and they’re mostly in Spanish (with a little bit of Chinese here and there). If you're into jet engines, this is definitely the kit for you. Unlike some other models, this one focuses on jet turbine technology used in high-speed jets, not commercial aircraft. It breaks down all the essential components like the fan, low-pressure compressor, high-temperature compression chambers, combustion chamber, high-pressure turbine, low-pressure turbine, and the gearbox for ignition. Everything is clearly explained, which is super helpful for anyone new to jet engines or complex models like this.
Exploring the Pieces
As I unpacked the components, I was really impressed by the quality. There’s a lot of metal here — everything from the body parts to the turbines is made of metal. The only plastic parts are the fuel injection pipes, which is understandable given the detailed nature of the model.
There’s even a 3D-printed fan inside! I had to pause for a second when I noticed that; it's the only plastic part that seems to be 3D printed, while everything else is solid metal. It's great to see a combination of different materials to enhance the authenticity of the build. Some parts feel light, while others, like the anodized aluminum pieces, give the engine a premium, well-machined look. The attention to detail is just amazing!
Tools and Assembly
One thing that I really appreciate is the inclusion of a full set of high-quality tools. The kit comes with precision screwdrivers and wrenches to make the assembly process smoother. It’s always a bit of a hassle when a kit doesn’t provide the right tools, but here, you get everything you need — even mini wrenches for those hard-to-reach nuts and bolts.
Now, I’m not going to lie, there are a lot of screws in this kit, and some sections are harder to put together than others. But it’s all worth it when you start seeing the pieces come together. It's a bit like putting together a very complex puzzle, and I enjoy that challenge.
The Final Build
Once the assembly was complete, I was blown away. This is one stunning model! The engine is not just for display; it’s functional and can even simulate the sound and light effects of a real jet turbine. I love how the kit includes LED lights and a vapor system that mimics the engine’s exhaust. When you add water to the vaporizer, you get a cool mist effect that makes the engine look like it’s actually running — a really fun touch!
The engine also has a sound feature with a button to turn on the sound of the turbine, and the accelerator adjusts the speed. The best part? You can control the light and smoke output from the exhaust, and even switch everything off for a quieter, more subtle effect.
The Experience and Thoughts
This is definitely one of my favorite models to date. It’s not just a model to assemble but an educational experience, giving you insight into how a real jet turbine works. And if you're looking for something that’s a conversation starter, this is it! Not only does it look amazing, but it also functions as a humidifier — how cool is that? You can add essential oils to the water, and it’ll not only create mist but also make your space smell great.
I can honestly say I’m thrilled with this model. The design, the complexity, the functionality — it’s all top-notch. And, if you’re a fan of model building or aviation, you’re going to love this one. It’s a beautiful, detailed engine that’s educational and fun to build.
