From Challenge to Breakthrough: The Birth of the First Real Diesel Engine

As a supplier deeply engaged in the R&D of internal combustion engine technology, we have been thinking about a question: how to break the bottleneck of the market and promote innovation in the field of internal combustion engines. In recent years, as the internal combustion engine market has gradually entered the stock era, classic models such as single-cylinder, dual-cylinder, and four-cylinder have been unable to meet increasingly complex needs. In the future, we know that it is no longer feasible to expand the market simply by adding cylinders. In order to meet new opportunities, our R&D team decided to turn its attention to an almost blank field-diesel engines.

The Difficult Start of Diesel Engines: Technological Breakthroughs and Challenges

As a unique type of internal combustion engine, the technical difficulty of diesel engine design and manufacturing is far greater than that of traditional gasoline engines. Although some personal studios abroad have tried to develop diesel engines, there are generally problems such as high costs and immature technology, and the price is also extremely expensive, with some high-end products even reaching several thousand dollars. At the same time, we have also seen market gaps and huge demand in China. On social media, many mechanical enthusiasts are full of interest in diesel engines and call for a high-quality diesel engine that meets their needs.

However, it is not easy to manufacture a diesel engine that truly meets market demand. Initially, our diesel engine R&D work faced huge technical bottlenecks. Due to the complex processing technology and high technical requirements, the early design did not go smoothly as expected. We tried to combine diesel engine design and manufacturing, but because the processing was too difficult and could not meet our quality standards, we had to settle for the second best and turn to gasoline engines as an alternative product.

Despite this, our team did not give up and continued to invest a lot of time and energy in technical research. After repeated experiments and optimization, we finally ushered in a breakthrough - we successfully developed this diesel engine with practical application value.

The true beauty of mechanics: not dependent on electrical systems

Unlike traditional electrical ignition systems, our diesel engines use compression ignition technology. It does not require CDI igniters, spark plugs or batteries, and relies entirely on mechanical operation and diesel fuel to achieve ignition. This design not only simplifies the structure and reduces the complexity of electrical circuits, but also retains the original working method of the diesel engine. In order to ensure the stability of long-term operation, we also equipped the diesel engine with an independent lubricating oil cup and oil pump, and designed a ball-throwing speed limiter mechanism. These innovative designs improve the durability and working performance of the product.

Market response and challenges: Continuous optimization, always pursuing excellence

During the testing process, we also realized that there were still some problems with the product. For example, there was a slight oil leakage problem in the oil pump spring. We knew that this defect might affect the user experience, so we immediately started to optimize the product.
Through continuous testing and improvement, we have upgraded the diesel engine in an all-round way, optimized the sealing design, and solved the oil leakage problem. Today's diesel engine is close to perfection, fully meeting the high requirements of mechanical enthusiasts for product performance and appearance.

Blue Ocean of the Future: Continue to Exploit the Diesel Engine Market

As the first successfully developed diesel engine product, we believe that the diesel engine market has great potential, but its audience is no smaller than that of steam engines and gasoline engines. Instead, it has higher technical requirements and stronger market demand.
At present, 80% of our diesel engine assembly work has been completed, and it is expected to complete the final debugging in early January and officially start shipping. We will continue to focus on subsequent optimization and improvement, and plan to launch more cylinder-type diesel engines next year to meet the needs of different markets.

Summary: Continuous technological breakthroughs, continuous improvement of user experience

For us, the launch of this diesel engine is not only a product launch, but also a major technological breakthrough. We will continue to be committed to the innovative research and development of diesel engines, constantly breaking through technical bottlenecks, and improving product reliability and user experience. In the future, we plan to launch multi-cylinder diesel engines to further expand the market and promote continuous innovation and development in the field of internal combustion engines.
This diesel engine is undoubtedly the crystallization of our years of technological accumulation and the proof of our continuous pursuit of excellence. We believe that with the official launch of this diesel engine, it will attract more attention from mechanical enthusiasts around the world.

A True-to-Life Diesel Engine Model

The D16 is designed based on the original diesel engines that helped shape industrial progress, such as the Rudolf Diesel engine or those produced by Sulzer, Augsburg, and Krupp. This model closely mimics the mechanical principles of early diesel engines, capturing their complexity and power. Features like adjustable fuel cams, compression timing, exhaust cam, and intake cam offer a level of detail rarely seen in model engines, ensuring that this model engine is not only a fascinating piece of engineering but also a functional one.

A Model Engine Unlike Any Other

One of the key challenges in developing this diesel engine model was miniaturizing the diesel injection system and ensuring it would work within the confines of a small combustion chamber. This is a rare feat in the world of model engineering, and it’s something that very few engineers have attempted—let alone successfully accomplished. Despite the difficulties, we’ve created a model that operates mechanically, with no CDI, no spark plugs, and no redundant electronic components. This is a truly pure mechanical operation, an authentic reproduction of the diesel engine's original design.

While miniature diesel engines are rare and expensive, the D16 offers an affordable yet exceptional alternative. Overseas models are often prohibitively expensive due to the high technical demands involved, but the D16 brings this fascinating technology within reach of enthusiasts, collectors, and educators alike.

Will it be supplied with a pulley so it is able to drive a model (such as a generator) with a belt?
