So we got one of these, and for the price, expectations were high. After ordering we patiently waited for its arrival, which wasnt that long of a wait at all, the shipment took about a week which is just fine.
Upon opening the box, which awesomely came with a wooden box inside of it, and the wooden box had a bunch of engine parts in it, but the box was fun. Oh yeah im reviewing the engine. My bad.
The engine, ya want to know about the engine. Well let me tell you, its awesome. Not only was it an enjoyment to put together, but it tought me a few things to that i shoulda known. But it didnt disappoint. The level of detail compared to a full sized version really steps up the game for the RC hobby which has been pretty stagnant for awhile till now. Its running 44hp which is roughly about the power of a push lawn mower but in a much smaller package that looks and sounds amazing.
Many complain about the price and how they can get a full motor for that price but they eeally miss the point here, and at the same time, are only talking about if they buy one used and with couple hundred thousand mile/km on it. A brand new one full sized of this motor is 10k roughly and thats before inflation. Plus that besides the point, because this is for the enthusiast or hobbyist that enjoys these little engines, that dont want or need a full size engine when they already have a car. This is either for sitting on the shelf or desk and being a good conversation starter, or for learning or teaching some basic to moderate mechanics, or to put into scaled rc of correct size to your choosing.
When you get yours, get online and pickup the online pdf manual because its got a more updated instruction guide, and follow it as closely as you can. Keep from altering any of the knobs on the carburetor and i recommend marking a spot where they are positions right out of the box just in case and in a permanent way cus ink just wears off. They are very very sensitive and a little turn can alter a lot in the performance. Also be sure to install piston and oil rings correctly and make sure to fit the arms to the camshaft to check if they are to tight for them to easily rotate around it before getting everything together to save you time later. Im sure im missing some more recomendations but ive made this review long enough.
We just picked up a second one thats how fun these little things are. Hope this helps those who read it. Theres some videos also on youtube that helped a lot to by some very informative people that are skilled in the craft so check those out also if you need more guidance.
