ENJOMOR 6cc Antique Red Hit and Miss Gas Engine Working Model

common Q&A: click

Description:

A hit-and-miss engine is a type of four-stroke IC engine since the late 1800s and began popular from the 1890s to 1930s. The name comes from the method of speed control that is implemented on these engines (as opposed to the "throttle governed" method of speed control). The sound made when the engine is running is a distinctive "POP whoosh whoosh whoosh whoosh POP" as the engine fires and then coasts until the speed decreases and needs to fire again to maintain its average speed.

Father and Son Hit&Miss

These little engines are terrific! I have several, the red Enjomor being my first. These little mechanical marvels inspired me to purchase a full sized Hit&Miss. Pictured here is my 1.5hp, 300 pound, 100+ year old Alpha Delaval Hit&Miss next its progeny.

These are fantastic little Hit and Miss engines!

Hi there, these are truly fabulous little engines- so much so, I purchased TWO- one of each colour!

However, they are NOT set up correctly at the factory to Hit and Miss, as they should..

But with a little patience, tge governor spring behind the latch arm can be shortened, so they run correctly!

It's mot a big job, just something that requires patience.

I enjoyed modifying mine, and I personally prefer these engines over the eachine models- but as a word of caution, spare parts DO NOT seem to be readily available, like the eachine engines, where spares seem to be plentiful..

So bear that in mind, before you make a purchase, of these great and very realistic little engines.

Looks 10/10
Authenticity. 10/10
Ease of use 10/10
Value for money 10/10
Spare parts.. 2/10

Enjomor Hit & Miss Engine

Good Day
I would like to say that I am very impressed by this little engine, she fired right up straight out of the box.
I have dressed her up a bit including a base which houses the electronics along with some extra weight so she does not move about while running.
Other mods include a softer governor spring, and the use of one 18650 cell along with a switch for ignition.
Thanks Again for a very scale excellent running model engine
Take Care

Enjomor Hit and Miss is a must-buy Hit and Miss enthusiasts

So much about this engine is very, very good - brass or bronze sleeve bearings used throughout, nice castings, strong construction, mechanical leaf switch ignition, great paint job, and all moving parts fitting well. Someone's put a lot of work into this. Initially it will run too fast - on a mass produced engine, I suspect this is necessary until it begins to run in and I suspect many of us will seek to slow down the governor. That kind of tweaking takes time and I'd rather the engine was affordable, which it definitely is - great price. Check out my Youtube unboxing and review, and subscribe if you want to be notified of my progress with this machine - I've already tried different springs in the governor and will get a translation of the Chinese governor video for this engine (My wife being Chinese). Next I'll try lead inserts in the governor weights, I think... fun tweaking!

Nice little engine!

I received my engine yesterday, and after about 15 minutes of setting everything up I got it started and running within a minute or so.
It was running too fast for my taste, so I changed the governor spring as other commenters mentioned already and after a few tries it is now running at a nice pace.
My engine also had washers installed at the weights of the governor from the factory, something earlier versions did not have from what I’ve read. So they apparently still keep improving the engines, nice to see that!
A nice bit of engineering for a fair price!
