Very nice H&M model! Very nicely machined and finished with the exception of the counterweights of the crank. Sort of hidden so not a huge deal. Not a perfect casting, so some voids are visible. I don't see any other issues in the machined areas.
The tapered brass inserts that hold the flywheels in place don't have Jack crews for releasing their grip. If you tighten them and haven't adjusted placement/orientation of the counterweights of the flywheels you're in for a headache. I backed off the screws 1 turn and gently tapped each until I could rotate flywheels on the shaft (Not ideal for tiny screw threads). I should have wrapped a piece of guitar string or a thin paperclip (paperclip probably too much, someone suggested a razor blade, but hope you get the idea) between the brass inserts and flywheels to maintain a gap to allow adjusting. Once everything is where it needs to be, remove this shimming material and tighten the 3 screws.
Alternatively, one could predrill these and cut threads for Jackscrews (Joe Pie's YouTube credit here).
Tracking the shipping in the US is kind of scary. The tracking info is originally all in Chinese. Eventually (if you dig enough) you can find a USPS tracking #. It's still scary until USPS (can be scary too) is in possession of the package. I ordered the complete kit and in a week it was to all to me. Packaged securely, 3 separate boxed items with no damages on arrival, to Massachusetts.
Haven't run this yet. I do get spark, but unsure if the three 9v batteries are sufficient.
All in all this is a really nice kit and I'm glad I spent the extra $$$ for the Retrol/Musa brand. Oh, and thanks to Sterlingkit! I recommend them highly!!
