🌡️ Stirling Engine Principle: How Does Hot Water Drive the Mechanism?
A Stirling engine is an external combustion engine that operates by utilizing gas expansion and contraction when heated and cooled, driving a piston. This low-temperature Stirling engine model uses hot water as a heat source, causing sealed gas to cycle between high and low temperatures, which in turn drives the flywheel to rotate. 💡 Simulate real-world engine operations, making it an ideal teaching tool for physics, engineering, and energy courses.

I gave this as a gift to my son and he put it together without too much trouble. He had a little difficulty getting a rubber gasket to seat properly in a groove, but says he was able to gently stretch it so there was less tension while he assembled those parts and the gasket stayed in place. Runs on a cup of hot water. I don't know if he's explored the minimum temperature difference it can run on.
The only complaint I have, and it is minor enough that I wouldn't let it affect my review, is that I didn't appreciate how long the international shipping would take (about a month to get the the US West Coast).

Low temperature Sterling engine
When I received my kit and checked the contents. It was discover that all the "O" rings were missing. The 3" o rings were ordered on line. When the rings arrived, the unit was assembled and work perfectly.

Very nice
It went together easily and ran okay but runs much better after balancing the flywheel. To balance, I wrapped about 1 inch of wire solder around the light weight spoke.

My 10 yr old assembled this by himself. It was his first model ever built. he only needed assistance in getting the runner rings on. He loves it. We all love it. We sit it on the hot chocolate and it works perfectly. I will be buying more ro give as gifts.
