What's Flame Licker Engine?

A flame-licker engine (also called vacuum engine , flame-dancer engine) derives its force from air pressure against one side of the piston, which has a partial vacuum on the other side of it. Vacuum is the difference in air pressure between the inside of the intake manifold and the outside atmosphere. The pressure difference creates suction and helps to draw air into the engine.

How Does it Work？

The vacuum engine does not need to be preheated. It has two hot cylinders and can run stably for a long time with strong power. At the beginning of an outstroke, a valve in the head of the cylinder opens and admits a charge of burning gas and air, which is trapped by the closing of the valve and expands. Towards the end of the stroke the charge comes into contact with a water- or air-cooled part of the cylinder and is chilled, causing a sudden drop in pressure sufficient to suck the piston – which is open towards the crank – back on the return stroke. The valve opens again in time for the piston to expel the burnt gases before the next outstroke begins.

How to Start and Run Vacuum Engine?

2. inject 95% alcohol fuel into the alcohol lamp, light the alcohol burner,dry the air in the cylinder to generate pneumatic power, and at the same time toggle the flywheel after 2 minutes to help start.
